Dr. Hoku Hoe
Dr. Hoe is a Clinical Health Psychologist. She graduated from Hawaii School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University with a degree in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) then went on to complete an accredited post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Health Psychology along with an additional Masterʻs degree in Psychopharmacology. Dr. Hoeʻs training and passion has been to work in rural Hawaii communities and she has worked at the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center, Waimanalo Health Center and Molokai Community Health Center as a trainee and post-doctoral fellow. Dr. Hoe has spent many years working within the military health system, primarily with retirees and family members of active duty service members. Dr. Hoe recently opened a private practice on Oahu, Kāhuli Therapy, with the hope of encouraging wellness one small change at a time and to return to work within the community. She specializes in career and life changes, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety or trauma. She can also help with being able to manage chronic conditions or problems related to lifestyle. She applies a whole person, bio-psycho-social approach to every case, has a strong background in cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness based approaches, and person-centered, strength based psychology. Her care is culturally informed, grounded in her upbringing on Molokai and reinforced by the daily practice of Hawaiian values.
